Personal Magnetism By Theron Q. Dumont

Theron Q. Dumont discusses persoanl magnetism:

“The fact is that every person generates and throws off a certain degree (varying among different individuals) of personal magnetism, which affects the minds of other persons coming within the field of its influence.

Not only does each person emanate and project a certain amount or degree of personal magnetism, additionally, each person is also constantly surrounded by a field of personal magnetic influence – a personal atmosphere, so to speak. This personal atmosphere affects to a greater or lesser degree other persons coming within its field of influence.

This personal atmosphere varies greatly in degree of strength, extent and general character, among different individuals. The average person has but a weak personal atmosphere, which extends but a short distance on all sides of him, while the strong characters of the race are surrounded by a widely spread personal atmosphere of great, power, especially when they are aroused by any strong emotion, feeling or desire.

The personal atmosphere of those strong individuals, who are generally recognized as leaders of the race, usually extends great distances from the person, and is fairly saturated with strong dynamic magnetism, which impresses itself strongly upon those coming within their field of influence.”

Wayne Dyer - Get Inspired

The Power of Intention is a wonderful book written by Dr. Wayne Dyer. I have seen him and met him. He is a wonderful person who shares much of himself. He is a powerful teacher. In some ways, he reminds of of Ram Dass. This is the only dance there is.

The following videos are a presentation of Power of Intention.

“There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way…”

Very inspirational, very moving, simply amazing.

Listen, learn, enjoy. You may find other copies of the Power of Intention with some sound distortion. These are the re-mastered versions, the recording is excellent.

The Dash Movie

I wanted to share a very powerful movie with you.

This will make you think about where you are and where you are going. We all make choices that affect every aspect of our lives.

You do affect everyone in your life. We all make choices that impact our life. The most powerful lesson we can learn is that we still have the ability to change. That is the true gift of being alive.

John Lennon said “Life is what happens, between making plans”.

What you do between the dashes of your life is what is most important.

More on Thought Vibration…

William Walker Atkinson realized long ago, that our thoughts create who we are and who we will become.

The following is from Thought Power:

“We are sending out thoughts of greater or less intensity all the time, and we are reaping the results of such thoughts.

Not only do our thought waves influence ourselves and others, but they have a drawing power – they attract to us the thoughts of others, things, circumstances, people, “luck,” in accord with the character of the thought uppermost in our minds.

Thoughts of Love will attract to us the Love of others; circumstances and surroundings in accord with the thought; people who are of like thought.

Thoughts of Anger, Hate, Envy, Malice and Jealousy will draw to us the foul brood of kindred thoughts emanating from the minds of others; circumstances in which we will be called upon to manifest these vile thoughts and will receive them in turn from others; people who will manifest inharmony; and so on.

A strong thought or a thought long continued, will make us the center of attraction for the corresponding thought waves of others. Like attracts like in the Thought World –

as ye sow so shall ye reap.

Birds of a feather flock together in the Thought World – curses like chickens come home to roost, and bringing their friends with them.”

Thought Power: Practice, Practice, Practice

Ralph Waldo Trine in his book, Character Building Thought Power describes how can most effectively use the power of thought.

The use of thought like any muscle in the body requires practice and continual repetition in order to use it most effectively.

“In the degree that we attempt to use the thought-forces do we continually become able to use them more effectively. Progress is slow at first, more rapid as we proceed.

Power grows by using, or, in other words, using brings a continually increasing power. This is governed by law the same as are all things in our lives, and all things in the universe about us.

Every act and advancement made by the musician is in full accordance with law. No one commencing the study of music can, for example, sit down to the piano and play the piece of a master at the first effort. He must not conclude, however, nor does he conclude, that the piece of the master cannot be played by him, or, for that matter, by any one. He begins to practise the piece.

The law of the mind that we have already noticed comes to his aid, whereby his mind follows the music more readily, more rapidly, and more surely each succeeding time, and there also comes into operation and to his aid the law underlying the action of the reflex nerve system of the body, which we have also noticed, whereby his fingers co-ordinate their movements with the movements of his mind more readily, more rapidly, and more accurately each succeeding time; until by and by the time comes when that which he stumbles through at first, that in which there is no harmony, nothing but discord, finally reveals itself as the music of the master, the music that thrills and moves masses of men and women.

So it is in the use of the thought-forces. It is the reiteration, the constant reiteration of the thought that grows the power of continually stronger thought-focusing, and that finally brings manifestation.

More on the Thought World Law of Attraction

William Walker Atkinson is able to explain the power of the Law of Attraction. He has been affected by this power in a number of different ways.

He also uses a number of scientific works to prove the ultimate power of the law.

The amazing power of his words is the fact his book was published over 100 years ago. He explains:

“THE Universe is governed by Law – one great Law. Its manifestations are multiform, but viewed from the Ultimate there is but one Law. We are familiar with some of its manifestations, but are almost totally ignorant of certain others.

Still we are learning a little more every day – the veil is being gradually lifted.

We speak learnedly of the Law of Gravitation, but ignore that equally wonderful manifestation, THE LAW OF ATTRACTION IN THE THOUGHT WORLD.

We are familiar with that wonderful manifestation of Law which draws and holds together the atoms of which matter is composed – we recognize the power of the law that attracts bodies to the earth, that holds the circling worlds in their places, but we close our eyes to the mighty law that draws to us the things we desire or fear, that makes or mars our lives.

When we come to see that Thought is a force – a manifestation of energy – having a magnet-like power of attraction, we will begin to understand the why and wherefore of many things that have heretofore seemed dark to us.

There is no study that will so well repay the student for his time and trouble as the study of the workings of this mighty law of the world of Thought – the Law of Attraction.

When we think we send out vibrations of a fine ethereal substance, which are as real as the vibrations manifesting light, heat, electricity, magnetism. That these vibrations are not evident to our five senses is no proof that they do not exist.

A powerful magnet will send out vibrations and exert a force sufficient to attract to itself a piece of steel weighing a hundred pounds, but we can neither see, taste, smell, hear nor feel the mighty force.

These thought vibrations, likewise, cannot be seen, tasted, smelled, heard nor felt in the ordinary way; although it is true there are on record cases of persons peculiarly sensitive to psychic impressions who have perceived powerful thought-waves, and very many of us can testify that we have distinctly felt the thought vibrations of others, both whilst in the presence of the sender and at a distance. Telepathy and its kindred phenomena are not idle dreams.

Light and heat are manifested by vibrations of a far lower intensity than those of Thought, but the difference is solely in the rate of vibration.

The annals of science throw an interesting light upon this question. Prof. Elisha Gray, an eminent scientist, says in his little book, “The Miracles of Nature”:

“There is much food for speculation in the thought that there exist sound-waves that no human ear can hear, and color-waves of light that no eye can see. The long, dark, soundless space between 40,000 and 400,000,000,000,000 vibrations per second, and the infinity of range beyond 700,000,000,000,000 vibrations per second, where light ceases, in the universe of motion, makes it possible to indulge in speculation.”

The Law of Attraction in the Thought World

The great thing about truth is that it can be found in many places. One of the ultimate truths, I have found it the Law of Attraction. One of those who discovered this truth was William Walker Atkinson.

He describes his experience with the Law of Attraction in his great book, Thought Vibration. He explains in depth the workings of this law. Here is an excerpt:

Like attracts like in the Thought World – as ye sow so shall ye reap. Birds of a feather flock together in the Thought World – curses like chickens come home to roost, and bringing their friends with them.

The man or woman who is filled with Love sees Love on all sides and attracts the Love of others. The man with hate in his heart gets all the Hate he can stand. The man who thinks Fight generally runs up against all the Fight he wants before he gets through. And so it goes, each gets what he calls for over the wireless telegraphy of the Mind. The man who rises in the morning feeling “grumpy” usually manages to have the whole family in the same mood before the breakfast is over. The “nagging” woman generally finds enough to gratify her “nagging” propensity during the day.

This matter of Thought Attraction is a serious one. When you stop to think of it you will see that a man really makes his own surroundings, although he blames others for it. I have known people who understood this law to hold a positive, calm thought and be absolutely unaffected by the inharmony surrounding them. They were like the vessel from which the oil had been poured on the troubled waters – they rested safely and calmly whilst the tempest raged around them.

One is not at the mercy of the fitful storms of Thought after he has learned the workings of the Law.”

James Allen’s Way to Blessedness

James All wrote a number of spiritual works. While As A Man Thinketh is his most famous, he shares his wisdom in Byways to Blessednes, as well. James Allen seemed to have power in the way he wrote.

The following is an excerpt:

“Every day is a fresh beginning;
Every morn is the world made new,
Ye who are weary of sorrow and sinning,
Here is a beautiful hope for you,
A hope for me and a hope for you.”

Do not dwell upon the sins and mistakes of yesterday so exclusively as to have no energy and mind left for living rightly today, and do not think that the sins of yesterday can prevent you from living purely today. Begin today aright, and, aided by the accumulated experiences of all your past days, live it better than any of your previous days; but you cannot possibly live it better unless you begin it better. The character of the whole day depends upon the way it is begun.

Another beginning which is of great importance is the beginning of any particular and responsible undertaking. How does a man begin the building of a house? He first secures a plan of the proposed edifice and then proceeds to build according to the plan, scrupulously following it in every detail, beginning with the foundation.

Should he neglect the beginning – namely, the obtaining of a mathematical plan – his labour would be wasted, and his building, should it reach completion without tumbling to pieces, would be insecure and worthless.

The same law holds good in any important work: the right beginning and first essential is a definite mental plan on which to build. Nature will have no slipshod work, no slovenliness, and she annihilates confusion, or rather, confusion is in itself annihilation. Order, definiteness, purpose eternally and universally prevail, and he who in his operations ignores these mathematical elements at once deprives himself of substantiality, completeness, success.

“Life without a plan,
As useless as the moment it began,
Serves merely as a soil for discontent
To thrive in, an encumbrance ere half spent.”

Let a man start in business without having in his mind a perfectly formed plan to systematically pursue and he will be incoherent in his efforts and will fail in his business operations. The laws which must be observed in the building of a house also operate in the building up of a business. A definite plan is followed by coherent effort; and coherent effort is followed by well-knit and orderly results – to wit, completeness, perfection, success, happiness.

From As A Man Thinketh

James Allen’s work should never be discounted.

The words hold truth and value. A little known fact about James Allen is that he was 48 when he passed away.
He seems to have packed a lot of wisdom in his life.

“MAN’S mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently
cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or
neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are
put into it, then an abundance of useless weed-seeds will fall
therein, and will continue to produce their kind.

Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds,
and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man
tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and
impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and
fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts. By pursuing this
process, a man sooner or later discovers that he is the
master-gardener of his soul, the director of his life. He also
reveals, within himself, the laws of thought, and understands, with
ever-increasing accuracy, how the thought-forces and mind elements
operate in the shaping of his character, circumstances, and destiny.

Thought and character are one, and as character can only manifest
and discover itself through environment and circumstance, the outer
conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be
harmoniously related to his inner state. This does not mean that a
man’s circumstances at any given time are an indication of his
entire character, but that those circumstances are so intimately
connected with some vital thought-element within himself that, for
the time being, they are indispensable to his development.

Every man is where he is by the law of his being; the thoughts which
he has built into his character have brought him there, and in the
arrangement of his life there is no element of chance, but all is
the result of a law which cannot err. This is just as true of those
who feel “out of harmony” with their surroundings as of those who
are contented with them.

As a progressive and evolving being, man is where he is that he may
learn that he may grow; and as he learns the spiritual lesson which
any circumstance contains for him, it passes away and gives place to
other circumstances.

Man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believes himself to
be the creature of outside conditions, but when he realizes that he
is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and
seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes
the rightful master of himself.”

The Master Key – Power Your Mind With Cosmic Consciousness

The Mastery Key System, since it was first released in 1912, has been surrounded in controversy. This book was initially banned by the Church and labeled as blasphemy. Written by Charles Haanel, this volume is a powerful tool. This masterpiece has been sadly neglected in the face of other books.

The Master Key System

Originally, this work was created as a correspondence course and not meant to be read in one sitting, as a novel. There are 24 chapters dealing with such things as Basics of Your Mind, The Creative Mind and Utilizing the Omnipotent Power. The course was meant to be mailed weekly and in the Master Key System you will find references to this fact.

F. H. Burgess sets the stage of the book in the Introduction. He explains: The Master Key System is a way for anyone to tune into the vibrations of the universe. It is quite clear that Haanel had learned early on, to tap into the Cosmic Consciousness.

Then, Haanel explains, how to focus your mind by stating:

“The attitude of mind necessarily depends upon what we think. Therefore, the secret of all power, all achievement and all possession depends upon our method of thinking.” Clearly, his work is discussing the Law of Attraction. He basically says: the real secret of all power depends on what we think. If we can think it, we can make it a reality. He also explains the marked difference between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind.

Haanel goes on to say, simply thinking is not enough. You need to direct your thoughts, “consciously, systematically, and constructively.” Then you can turn your mind to what he calls The Universal Mind where you will tune into the infinite. You can then set into motion, the creative force of the universal mind: The Law of Attraction.

The power of The Master Key System, is not only the explanation of the Law of Attraction and it’s potential, but Haanel also gives insight and practical methods to make this part of your own reality by how to use the law of attraction. If you are at all interested in The Secret, you need to read The Master Key System.
